When Andreas Gergen asked me if I would like to become part of the creative team at Bühne Baden and he told me about his ideas and visions, I was initially overwhelmed by the prospect of this life-changing decision. After getting over the initial shock, I decided to travel to Baden to get to know the city and the theater personally.

As soon as I arrived, I felt the special atmosphere: as I walked through flowering gardens, an orchestra played next to the summer arena and families enjoyed ice cream to the sound of classical music. Upon entering the theater and meeting the dedicated team, I quickly realized that talent, joy and a deep desire to create great things with respect and positive energy are omnipresent here. After attending a performance, I did not hesitate to accept the offer.

It is an honor to work alongside an artistic director whom I greatly admire and appreciate. It is with great enthusiasm and a desire to create theater in its purest form - with talent and teamwork at its core - that I take on this task. As a choreographer and director, I love to challenge myself, leave my comfort zone to surprise the audience and integrate different dance styles. It is particularly important to me to develop movements from deeply felt emotions: I imagine what feelings I want each musical number to evoke in the audience and let the choreographies emerge from that.

My aim is to tell and support stories through the body. I prefer sequences of movements that have a clear purpose rather than just sequences of steps without depth. As artists, we dedicate ourselves to this profession in order to experience and portray different emotions. I hope that after attending a performance, the audience feels that they have been touched on the inside. This place provides the perfect foundation for that.

It is exciting to be part of this new era on the Baden stage.
