Biography
Grazer: Director, actor and singer. He took his joint school-leaving examination in ballet in 1988 and studied singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz from 1988 to 1990. He took his joint school-leaving examination as an actor in 1995 and founded the ‘Theater Initiative Graz’ with the production of ‘The Threepenny Opera’ in 1990.
He has had continuous engagements as an actor and musical performer since 1986 at the Theater im Keller in Graz, Grazer Straßentheater, Next Liberty Graz, Grazer Oper, Orpheum Graz, Bad Hersfeld Festival, Schlosstheater Fulda, Landestheater Eisenach, Schlosstheater Celle, Off Theater Wien and Bühne Baden.
He has directed productions at the Theater im Keller, the Orpheum Graz, the Next Liberty, the Freie Bühne Wieden (world premiere of Aachen – Ein Stück Geschichte), the Intercult Theatre Vienna, the Metropol and the Burgtheater (world premiere of Scheinbar Treibgut).
From 2014 to 2023, he taught at the Film Academy in Vienna, where he was also the artistic director from 2016 to 2021. Since 2024, he has been teaching at the BSA Vienna.
With more than 40 years of stage experience under his belt, he has completed 27 ballet productions, 29 children's plays, 93 acting roles, 62 musicals and operettas, and 25 other productions. His most notable productions include James Leeds in Gottes vergessene Kinder (performed in both spoken and sign languages), the title role in Macbeth, and most recently, Georg in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
