First of all, I would like to welcome you to the new season and thank Michael Lakner for his passion, commitment and belief in great things! At the same time, I am delighted to be able to be a musical partner to our new artistic director, Andreas Gergen, as we look to the future.

First of all: a conductor alone does not make a sound. Rather, it is the musicians who use their fine antennae to acoustically translate the conductor's gestural cues and lay the foundations for the singers, actors and dancers on stage to achieve great things. This realization always makes me feel grateful to the orchestra, the répétiteurs and the singers. And it also motivates me to honestly and truly bring the composers' intentions to life from the notes. But why does music sound different for everyone or on every evening?

This is the miracle of MUSIKTHEATER, where emotions are transported, where there is joy, where tears flow - a place that touches us all and does not let us become numb, despite the news all around us. This shared experience makes us rejoice together, makes us all hold our breath, makes us applaud loudly, makes us freeze in shock - in short, makes us come into harmony.

We want to share timeless works of art as well as good entertainment with you. As musical director of Bühne Baden, I am convinced that our outstanding ensemble on, behind and in front of the stage will touch you with full enthusiasm and create an emotional connection with you by performing music at the highest level.

Let us remain open to new approaches and not hide behind preconceived ideas. Fill our theater with life, be curious about what is to come, just as we are curious about your reactions to what we do and create! Our love for our profession allows us to infect you with “good vibes”.
