Andy Lee Lang
Biography
Andy Lee Lang is a singer, musician, performer, presenter and actor who has enjoyed success in the international music industry for 40 years. He is certainly one of Austria's most versatile entertainers.
He has released 34 CDs, the last of which was a farewell album released in 2023.
He recently enjoyed great success with shows such as Turn Your Radio On, Happy Birthday Frank Sinatra, Merci Udo Jürgens and The Elvis Presley Story, as well as a doo-wop show.
He has received 61 national and international awards, including the Golden Medal of Merit of the Province of Vienna, which he has held since 2004. He is also the first and only Austrian to be inducted into the American Hall of Fame. In 2014, he received the Golden Medal of Honour from the Republic of Austria, and two years later, he received the Grand Medal of Honour from the Province of Lower Austria.
He has been involved in species conservation for 20 years and is now an ambassador for mountain gorillas. He also supports the Harnas Wildlife Foundation in Namibia.
He made his musical debut in 1997 in a production for the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, playing the lead role in Elvis Forever. He then appeared in the successful productions Be-Bop-A-Lula, Strangers in the Night, Wien hat den Blues, Die Wonderboys von Hernois, Go West Again and Rock My Soul.
In 2022, he starred as Jerry Lee Lewis in the German-language premiere of the Broadway hit Million Dollar Quartet. He also played the arch-villain Curtis Jackson in the musical Sister Act in Staatz, receiving rave reviews for his performance. To date, he has played 10 leading roles in musicals.
In 2023, he made his operetta debut as the handsome Sigismund in 'Im Weißen Rössl' in Weitra and Vienna. The following year, he remained faithful to the genre, celebrating triumphs as 'Hutschenschleuderer Kagler' in 'Wiener Blut' in Baden, and taking on the role of lawyer Dr Calmus in 'Die 3 von der Tankstelle' at the Vienna Metropol.
In 2025, he celebrated his 40^(th) stage anniversary and appeared as an actor in a Nestroy play for the first time. In Liebesgeschichten und Heiratssachen (Love Stories and Marriage Matters), he gave a convincing performance as the innkeeper and dazzled with a Nestroy couplet.
