Angelika Niakan
Biography
Angelika Niakan is an Austrian soprano active in musical theatre, oratorio and lieder. She graduated with distinction from both the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she studied with Barbara Bonney, and the University of Graz. Important inspiration also came from KS Ildikó Raimondi, Christa Ludwig, Angelika Kirchschlager and Giacomo Aragall. She has performed at the Graz Opera, the festivals in Baden-Baden, Bayreuth and Salzburg, and the Vienna Volksoper, among others.
She made her opera debut in 2014 at the Theater an der Rott, performing the role of Serpetta in Mozart's Die Stellte Gärtnerin with the L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra.
Her repertoire includes the roles of Adele in Die Fledermaus, Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Queen of the Night and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel.
Scholarships and competition successes have also contributed to her musical career. Angelika Niakan has been a choir member at the Baden Theatre since 2025.
