Evamaria Mayer

Choreographer Evamaria Mayer was born in Graz and completed her dance training while studying musicology at the University of Vienna, performing in operetta, musical and opera productions at the same time. After graduating, she broadened her experience of contemporary dance theatre at the Budapest Dance Theatre. Since 2018, she has worked as a choreographer, particularly enjoying musical entertainment theatre.

She has recently worked at the MusikTheater an der Wien, the Graz Opera, the Dresden State Operetta, the Wuppertal Opera, the Wiesbaden State Theatre and the Dortmund Opera. She also regularly works at the Linz Music Theatre and the Lehár Festival in Bad Ischl.

Both Das Spitzentuch der Königin at the Musiktheater an der Wien and the Wiesbaden production of Gräfin Mariza and Franz Lehár's Clo-Clo at the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl won the Bavarian Radio Operetta Prize for innovative operetta. In 2023, Der Graf von Luxemburg at the Musiktheater Linz won the Austrian Music Theatre Prize in the Best Overall Production Operetta category. In 2024, she received two further nominations for the Austrian Music Theatre Prize for 'Anatevka' at the Graz Opera and 'Madame Pompadour' at the Lehár Festival in Bad Ischl.

She is currently responsible for the choreography of “The Land of Smiles” at the Baden Theater.
