Lukas Mayer
Biography
Lukas Mayer studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, appearing in several productions during his time there, including those in Dortmund, Bonn, and at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus.
In 2019, he won first place at the Federal Singing Competition in Berlin.
Following his training, he debuted in the premiere of Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay's new play LADY BESS at Theater St. Gallen, where he created the role of Philipp von Spanien. This was followed by the role of Gabe in Next to Normal at the Bühnen Bern, also in Switzerland.
He received the Kurt Müller-Graf Audience Award during his time at the Ettlingen Festival, where he performed in Pajama Game and Dreigroschenoper.
He then played the composer of the Four Seasons, Bob Gaudio, in the German-language premiere of Jersey Boys.
During the 2023/24 season, he returned to Theater Dortmund to play Angel in Rent and appeared as Jesus Christ in Jesus Christ Superstar at Staatstheater Nürnberg.
Most recently, he toured extensively with the successful musical Elisabeth by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, playing Death in China, Germany and Switzerland.
