Marika Lichter
Biography
She was born in Vienna. Her father was from Lemberg and her mother was born in Osijek. She grew up in Budapest and had piano and dance lessons from the age of three. She studied singing at the Vienna Conservatory and graduated in opera. She made her debut at the Raimund Theatre in Vienna as an operetta soubrette and performed in many major VBW musicals, including LES MISÉRABLES, ELISABETH, DIE SCHÖNE UND DAS BIEST and REBECCA. She also performed in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and in the operettas DER VOGELHÄNDLER and DER GRAF VON LUXEMBURG at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch. In 2005, she won the first season of ORF Dancing Stars. Performed in INTO THE WOODS at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and CSATERBERG (with Wolfgang Ambros, among others) in 2002. From 2002 to 2011, Marika Lichter appeared as the female lead in ten productions at the Laxenburger Sommerspielen. Non(n)sense at the Vienna Kammerspiele; Der Mann von La Mancha at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz; Otello Darf Nicht Platzen at the Akzenttheater, Vienna; Franz Wittenbrinks Schön, Schön, Schön! Kammerspiele der Josefstadt, Vienna. BLUTSBRÜDER and DER GEHEIME GARTEN at Musicalfrühling Gmunden. In 2018/19, she appeared in DIE REISE DER VERLORENEN at the Theater in der Josefstadt, and in 2019 in Frl. Schneider in Cabaret, Geislingen; 2021: Christmas with Me in Germany; 2022: Herrschaftszeiten at Theater Werk X in Vienna; and Summer 2022: Romeo und Julia – Das Musical at Musicalsommer Winzendorf.
