Nina Bezu

Berlin-born soprano Nina Bezu made significant debuts in the 2024/25 season, performing the roles of Salome in Salome and Elisabetta in Don Carlo, both at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki under the direction of Hannu Lintu. She will also make her debut at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo in Salome, this time under Hartmut Haenchen.

In February 2025, her debut album Überweltlich/Apparition was released on the Schweizer Fonogramm label. It features art songs by George Crumb, Richard Strauss and Franz Schubert, accompanied by Matthias Alteheld on the piano.

Other notable roles in her repertoire include the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Mariana in Das Liebesverbot, Leonora in Il trovatore, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, and Brigomeïde and Minna in Glanert's Die drei Wasserspiele.

Her guest engagements have taken her to the Hanover State Opera, the Leipzig Opera, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Cottbus State Theatre, the Braunschweig State Theatre, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Theater Vorpommern, the Teatro Principal de Zaragoza, and the Schloss Glatt Opera Festival, to name a few. She has performed in opera galas at the Auditorio de Zaragoza and Theater Kempten with the Smetana Philharmonic Orchestra Prague, and most recently with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra at the Türk Telekom Opera Hall.
Her concert repertoire includes works such as Verdi's Requiem, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Mendelssohn's Paulus, Dvořák's Stabat Mater and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which she has performed at venues such as the Herkulessaal in Munich and the Konzerthaus Berlin. 

Most recently, she sang Verdi's Requiem with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, conducted by Sascha Goetzel.

She is the winner of the Elizabeth Connell Prize and a finalist in the New York International Vocal Competition. She is also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association.
