Shlomit Butbul

Biography

She is a cosmopolitan singer and actress who was born in Haifa, Israel, and raised in Vienna. She graduated with honours from the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen in 2020. She has worked on national and international productions in the fields of music, theatre, and film. She has released four CDs under her own name. She ran the Kulturhaus-L'Inouï Café-Concert Café-Théâtre in Luxembourg for 14 years, staging 220 events per year.

Her roles include Dolly, Dulcinea, Sally, the Rösslwirtin, Jente, Rose Brice and Maria Hösel-Ram at VBW Vienna, Mrs Pearce and Frau Holle. She has also performed at the Graz Opera House, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, the Volkstheater Wien, the Theater der Jugend Wien, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg.

She has undertaken training in acting, singing and release/blockage techniques in New York and Arizona.

She is currently touring Europe with her new programme, 'Whatever Comes – A Tribute to Roger Cicero'. Butbul moves across many different cultural levels, always remaining true to herself.
