Verena Tranker
Biography
The Austrian soprano Verena Tranker made her highly successful debut alongside Jonas Kaufmann at the Tyrolean Festival Erl under the direction of Asher Fisch. She was praised by the press for her 'secure high notes', 'coloratura pearls' and stage presence. Her recent engagements have included the title role in Indigo und die 23 Räuber*innen at the Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna Festival, the Musiktheater an der Wien, the Musikverein Wien, the Carinthischer Sommer, the Festival International de Musique Symphonique d'El Jem, the Varna Summer International Music Festival, and the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl. During the 2025/26 season, she will make her debut as a featured young artist at the Wiener Konzerthaus, returning to the Musiktheater an der Wien, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, and the Sommerarena der Bühne Baden, among others. She is a multiple prize winner of the international MUT competition of the Gärtnerplatztheater Munich, in cooperation with Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna, and the Musica Juventutis Prize winner of 2024.
She received her musical training at the MDW Vienna, the RCM London and the MUK Vienna.
