Andreas Lichtenberger

Biography

Andreas Lichtenberger completed his training at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart's acting department, going on to perform at the Stuttgart State Theatre's Schauspielhaus theatre for seven seasons.

He made his musical debut in 2003 in the German-language premiere of 42^(nd) Street. This was followed by roles as Sam and Bill in MAMMA MIA!, Kerchak in Disney's TARZAN, The Man of La Mancha, Edna in HAIRSPRAY, Albin/Zaza in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, Shrek in the musical of the same name, Long John Silver in the world premiere of DIE SCHATZINSEL, Tevye in ANATEVKA, and Jedermann in the world premiere of JEDERMANN – DIE ROCKOPER. His Austrian debut was as Axel in Ich war noch niemals in New York at the Raimundtheater in Vienna, and he also appeared as Petruchio in Kiss Me, Kate at the Vienna Volksoper and as Don Camillo in Don Camillo & Peppone at the Ronacher.

From 2021 to 2022, he played the Wizard of Oz in the new production of Wicked at the Stage Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg. He then returned to the Ronacher as Archdeacon Frollo in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, before appearing as Radbod in Bonifatius at the Musicalsommer Fulda. Most recently, he appeared as Falco's manager, Horst Borck, in Rock Me Amadeus at the Ronacher in Vienna.
At the Baden Theatre, he played the Wizard in Wicked, Baron Mirko Zeta in The Merry Widow and Agathe Knüppelkuh in Matilda.
