Christoph Gerhardus

Biography

Christoph Gerhardus, who is originally from Vienna, started his musical career as a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir. He completed his vocal training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG), supplementing it with a course in classical operetta at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). He was a member of the opera studio at the Landestheater Linz in the 23/24 and 24/25 seasons.
His repertoire ranges from opera to operetta. He made his debut at the Landestheater Linz as Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. He has also impressed in the operetta genre, appearing as Jan in Millöcker's Der Bettelstudent, Eisenstein in Strauss's Die Fledermaus, and Dr. Siedler in Benatzky's Im weißen Rössl. He has also appeared in several world premieres at the Graz Opera and the Steirischer Herbst festival.

Christoph Gerhardus has won multiple national singing competitions. In 2024, he won first prize at the Operetta Competition at Bruckner University in Linz, as well as receiving two special prizes at the Johann Strauss Competition. In 2022, he won the audience prize at the Nico Dostal Competition. In 2025, he was nominated for the Austrian Music Theatre Prize in the ‘Best Young Male Artist’ category.
