Liviana Degen
Biography
Born in Switzerland with Italian roots, she completed her four-year degree in singing, dance and acting at the Performing Academy in Vienna. While still a student, she gained her first stage experience in the dance production DER FEUERVOGEL & CARMINA BURANA at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (choreography: Sabine Arthold). Immediately after graduating in June 2023, she was engaged as a 'Kit Kat Girl' in the musical Cabaret at the Chemnitz Opera House. This was followed by the role of 'Galina Stein' in Jane Coyle's play The Suitcase at Vienna's English Theatre.
In spring 2024, she returned to her homeland to dance in the ensemble of Csárdásfürstin at the Zurich Opera House, followed by Heidi – Das neue Musical on the Walensee stage.
Shortly afterwards, she played Lou Ann in HAIRSPRAY at the Bonn Opera House, where she was also dance captain. During this period, she also appeared in another dance production at the Klagenfurt City Theatre, this time performing as a soloist in the dance piece Dance Episodes (choreography: Sabine Arthold). She spent the summer of 2025 at the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall, appearing as 'Shark Girl Francisca' in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story.
