Oliver Baier

Biography

Oliver Baier became known as a radio and television presenter after completing his voice training in 1988. He initially worked for Ö3, then moved to the German radio market before returning to Ö1, where he appeared on programmes such as ‘Café Sonntag’ and ‘Punkt Eins’.
He has hosted the classic TV entertainment show Was gibt es Neues? on ORF eins for almost 20 years.
Since 2007, he has performed at the Rabenhof Theatre, the Kammerspiele, the former Stadttheater Wien, the Rosenburg Summer Night Comedy, and the Comedy Plays at Porcia Castle. He has also appeared in various guest roles on television, including in SOKO and the two-part series Aufschneider. In 2016, the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl introduced him to musical theatre in the role of 'Frosch'. In 2019, he was engaged as the narrator in The Rocky Horror Show at Musical-Sommer Amstetten. He has also appeared at the Baden Theatre as Penizek (Countess Mariza), Sigismund (Im Weißen Rössl), Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady) and Lustige Person/Weyland (Friederike), among others.
Oliver Baier lives and works in Vienna.
