Verena Scheitz
Biography
She grew up in Vienna. After graduating from high school, she studied acting and dance at the Vienna Conservatoire. She then went on to study law, successfully completing her degree and a year of legal training.
As a theatre actress, she has performed in Austria and Germany. Since 2001, she has also performed as a cabaret artist, first in duos and trios, and then in 2013 with her first solo programmes Scheitz Dir Nix and Iss Was Gscheitz.
She has appeared in numerous television productions, including DAS RENNEN, DIE ALPENRAD SHOW, DER KABARETTGIPFEL, SPIEL FÜR DEIN LAND and many more.
Since 2007, she has hosted the ORF early evening programmes Frühlingszeit, Sommerzeit, Herbstzeit and Winterzeit, sowie Heute Leben and currently Studio 2.
She gained operetta experience at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch in Eine Nacht in Venedig, at the Vienna Volksoper in Der Teufel auf Erden, and in Baden in Der Vogelhändler and Im weißen Rössl, Die Fledermaus.
In 2016, she took part in the tenth season of Dancing Stars, which she won with professional dancer Florian Gschaider.
Her first humorous book, Der Wenzel-Test, published by Ueberreuter Verlag, was very well received by dog lovers.
